The Fanos Ethiopia program supports adolescent girls in Ethiopia with access to high-quality STEM education, digital skills training, and mentorship. Funded by Global Affairs Canada and The Barrett Family Foundation, it targets over 15,000 girls through schools and community centers.
The STEM Education for Empowerment Project (Fanos) is changing the game for girls aged 14–18 in Ethiopia. We're breaking barriers, building skills, and opening doors to science, technology, engineering, and math.
(Fanos) is a three-year, $4 million initiative funded by the Government of Canada and The Barrett Family Foundation. Led by Humber Polytechnic and implemented by HaHuJobs in Ethiopia and CAPYEI in Kenya, Fanos is designed to transform the future of 15,000 adolescent girls aged 14 to 18 from underserved communities.
By delivering inclusive, market-relevant STEM education and career pathways, Fanos empowers girls both in and out of school to step confidently into science, technology, engineering, and mathematics fields. More than a project, Fanos is a movement toward gender equality, confidence, and opportunity.
