About the Course
Grade 9 English, structured under the new Ethiopian curriculum, gives students a warm and clear start to high-school English. The six skills are taught together so that listening, reading, writing, grammar, vocabulary, and speaking support one another in every lesson. Each of the five chapters is built around a real-world theme that supplies the texts, examples, and tasks, moving from foundational skills such as listening for detail and the present simple tense in Chapter 1, to richer skills such as cause and effect, the future tense, and making inferences in the later chapters. The language is kept simple and encouraging throughout, with every new idea broken into small steps, demonstrated with a worked example, and finished with a clear tip, so that students of about twelve and thirteen feel confident and capable.
