About the Course
This digital educational material for Grade 10 ICT, drawn entirely from the Student Textbook, delivers six cohesive units Introduction to ICT; Application Software; Information and Computer Security; Advanced Application Software; Using the Internet; and Control and Learning with Logo . From the outset, the course immerses students in the foundations of ICT systems by exploring hardware, software, data, and user interactions through clear input process output cycles and the “Garbage In, Garbage Out” concept, emphasizing feedback and media integration for high-quality information. Building on this base, learners master practical skills in word processing, presentation design, and desktop publishing before advancing to robust security practices, spreadsheet modeling, and database applications. Subsequent units guide students through internet navigation, WWW structures, and basic web-page creation, culminating in Logo programming to develop algorithmic thinking. Each chapter integrates hands-on activities and targeted review questions, while continuous formative and summative assessments align with Ethiopia’s competency-based curriculum to ensure mastery. By course end, students will have developed secure data-management techniques, effective use of application software, safe online behaviors, and introductory coding skills laying a solid foundation for further ICT studies and supporting Ethiopia’s growing digital economy.
